A New Look at Accessory Dwelling Units

More widespread Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) development “can help today’s vast quantity of underused housing and land,” one study finds.

According to Urban Planning and Development Professor William P. Macht at the Center for Real Estate at Portland State University in Oregon, developing more ADUs will help adapt today’s housing to fit modern demographic and financial realities, “making housing more affordable, intergenerational, and diverse.”
