NAR Data Say Vacation-Home Sales Break Record

Data from the NAR indicate sales of vacation homes hit the highest level on record last year, the Wall Street Journal reports.

An estimated 1.13 million vacation properties were sold last year, a 57.4 percent increase from 2013, which itself marked a 30 percent increase from 2012.

But the association’s small survey sample, based on responses by just 1,971 people, has made some analysts question whether or not the number is exaggerated.
