French Architect Designs Affordable, No-Frills Home

French practice Fouquet Architecture Urbanisme argues that homes are over-engineered, which makes them less affordable.

The architects designed Maison D, which uses budget building materials to produce a stripped-down family house for a relatively affordable price, Gizmag reports.

The basic structure is made out of wood clad in polycarbonate tiles with some aluminum siding around the garage area. With a floorspace of 1,593 square feet, the home has two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a kitchen and dining area, a lounge, a conservatory, and a car and bicycle garage.
