Smoke: Increase in Home Starts Give Middle-Class Home Buyers a Chance
According to Realtor.com Chief Economist Jonathan Smoke, the 20.2 percent housing start increase from March to April might loosen up the tight market.
“This increase in single-family starts in April should bode well for a significant increase in new-home sales in April as well,” Smoke said. “We should see stability in multifamily but a return to growth in single-family that outpaces multifamily.”
