Jumbo-Mortgage Thresholds May Be Raised

With home prices continuing a climb to prerecession peaks, The Wall Street Journal reports that baseline jumbo mortgage limits may be raised for the first time in a decade.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency, which sets limits for jumbo loans, requested public input on its house price index back in May. The deadline for input is July 27, and the FHFA will decide this fall whether to change the baseline limit starting Jan 1.
