An NAHB analysis of the most recent Census data found that townhouse construction has reached a seven-year high.
Single-family attached starts were 24,000 for the second quarter of 2015, a 26 percent increase from a year prior. The second quarter pace of townhouse construction is the fastest since the first quarter of 2008.
The market share of new townhouses stands at 11.5 percent of all single-family starts, the NAHB reported.
