Though customer service surveys and focus groups have long been done by many builders, the growing practice of crowdsourcing seems to be taking their place when it comes to home design ideas.
Construction Dive reports that several builders, such as Surge Homes of Houston and Taylor Morrison in Scottsdale, Ariz., “are casting a wider net by opening the conversation up to anyone who happens upon their websites and expresses an interest in new homes.”
By crowdsourcing, builders get an idea of what type of materials, colors, layouts, and sizes buyers are looking for.
