NAR Report Gives Data on Homebuyers

Real Estate Consulting summarized a recent National Association of Realtors report on buyer and seller generational trends.

A sampling of the report's results: 65 percent of all homes sold were purchased by married couples; single women (16 percent) are twice as likely to buy a house than single men; and almost two-thirds of homebuyers are childless.

People under 35 are doing well in the housing market, as young buyers comprised 32 percent of all buyers (68 percent of them bought their first home). For this group, job convenience was cited as the most important factor in buying a home.
