Seattle Development Cuts Carbon with Sustainable Home-Office Hybrid

Going a step beyond using sustainable materials and installing energy-efficient systems and appliances, Dwell Developments in Seattle cuts even more carbon by reducing commute times.

This is done by adding a dedicated work space on the ground floor of the homes. Similar to the shop houses found throughout Asia, these live-work homes are built in the bustling Admiral District of Seattle, Gizmag reports, a pedestrian-friendly section that will allow visitors to easily access the commercial space in the home’s ground floor.

An alternative to having homeowners use the ground floor as their own work space is to rent it out for retail, providing additional income.
