Critically Acclaimed Book Calls Out U.S. Mortgage System Flaws

The former governor of the Bank of England Mervyn King told writer and financial reporter Bethany McLean: “Most countries have socialized health care and a free market for mortgages. You in the United States do exactly the opposite.”

This is the foundation of McLean’s newest book “Shaky Ground: the Strange Saga of the U.S. Mortgage Giants,” which The National Book Review calls a “very smart finance book.”
