Boulder, Colo., tops the list of cities where female entrepreneurship can easily thrive, a new report from Nerdwallet reveals.
On average, there has been a 27.5 percent increase of women-owned businesses compared to five years prior. But there are still many barriers for female entrepreneurs, such as access to capital or access to getting relevant business training and counseling, a 2014 Senate Committee report says.
So Nerdwallet took up the task of finding the 10 best places for women to launch a business by looking at the Census Bureau’s American Community survey and scoring business climate, local economic health, and financing opportunities.
Also on the list are Portland, Maine, and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn.
