Housing Wire examined the top 20 hottest housing markets, based on demand and inventory of listed houses.
The top three markets are right next to each other in Northern California: San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward is first, San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara is second, and Vallejo-Fairfield is third.
