The Sum of Its Parts: Economies of All 50 States and Washington, D.C., Ranked
Business Insider has looked at the economies of all 50 U.S. states plus Washington, D.C., and ranked them from worst to best.
The rankings were based on seven measures including unemployment rates, GDP per capita, average weekly wages, recent job growth rates for non-farm payroll jobs, GDP, house prices, and wages.
Coming in dead last in the rankings (as so often seems to be the case with this state on ranked lists) is West Virginia, which was both the only state with a decline in home prices between Q3 2014 and Q3 2015 and which also suffered from an unemployment rate of 6.5 percent.
