Buyers Pay More For Blue Bathrooms, Kitchens, And Bedrooms

June 1, 2017

Homes with pale blue bathrooms were found to have sold for $5,440 more than expected, according to a new report. Blue kitchens and bedrooms also fetched similar premiums.

Zillow’s 2017 Paint Color Analysis examined 32,000 photos from homes sold across the nation and determined how paint colors impacted their sale price on average compared to similar homes with white walls.

Homes with blue kitchens sold for $1,809 more than expected, and homes with cadet blue bedrooms earned a $1,856 premium.

Navy blue front doors, slate blue dining rooms, “greige” home exteriors, and brown living rooms also got premiums of $1,000 or more.
