Millions of homes are at risk for hurricane damage as the clock ticks on national flood insurance

With the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Coast potentially facing an above-normal hurricane season, the federal flood insurance program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which in some markets is the only home insurance available for property owners, is set to expire in September if Congress doesn’t take action.
