Seems like there are no mean streets in Vermont.
According to Realtor.com, WalletHub ranked the states from safest to most dangerous, and Vermont finished in first. The New England state was tops for personal and residential safety ratings.
The rest of the states in the top 10 were Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Washington, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Utah, and Hawaii.
Mississippi finished last, with awful road safety, workplace safety, emergency preparedness.
The personal finance website looked at crime, unemployment and job security, road safety, workplace safety, and emergency preparedness statistics, along with many others, to come up with the list.
