New College Grads Should Consider Moving To The Midwest Or Texas

With affordable rents, a low cost of living, and good job growth and opportunities, Cincinnati is the best city for young adults who are finally done with school.

SmartAsset ranked the 25 best places for new college grads, based on metrics that calculate jobs, affordability, and fun. Of the top 10, eight were located in the central part of the country, including Columbus, Pittsburgh, Nashville, San Antonio, and Lexington, Ky.

Texas had four cities in the top 25, and Midwestern cities including Chicago, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Madison, Wis., and Omaha, Neb., made the cut.

Only two cities, Seattle and San Francisco, represent the West Coast in our top 25. West Coast cities tend to be more expensive. Even San Francisco and Seattle carry some of the highest cost of living and rent numbers, despite the higher earnings college grads see.
