Older Millennials don’t need three-car garages, and they don’t have use for a ton of closet space. Instead, they want homes with mother-in-law quarters, water-efficient fixtures, and pet-friendly features.
Curbed reports that some developers and builders are passing over entry-level buyers to focus on “move-up millennials,” young adults who currently own a condo or house and are looking for more expensive homes built around flexibility and personalization.
Pardee Homes recently designed and built a community of new homes for these buyers in Henderson, Nev. Prices start at nearly $400,000.
Some of the models include a convertible downstairs suite which can be utilized as a roommate rental, mother-in-law quarters, a room for an older child, of an Airbnb rental space.
