Where Millennials Are (And Aren't) Buying Homes

The top 10 cities where Millennials are buying homes include St. Louis, Mo., Boise City, Idaho, Baton Rouge, La., and Scranton-Wilkes-Barre-Hazleton, Pa. But they aren’t buying in Durham-Chapel Hill, N.C., Madison, Wis., New Haven-Milford, Conn., or Fresno, Calif. That’s according to ABODO’s analysis of data from the 2015 American Community Survey. Home buying among Millennials slowed from 39.5 percent in 2005 to 32.1 percent in 2015, but ABODO notes that recently more Millennials have been entering the market.
