Houston And Tampa Effectively Address Their Homelessness Problems

Rather than just shuffle homeless people around, Tampa employs a staff of eight deputies to help them get what they need, like medicine and identification. Efforts like this has helped the city decrease its homeless population.

Zillow reports that Tampa and Houston are among the cities where an uptick in rent rates won’t send many people out on the streets, unlike New York City and Los Angeles. In New York, if rents rise 5 percent, the homeless population will go up by 2,982.

Houston has created housing that specifically targets homeless people.
