San Antonio has a ton of entertainment options, from museums to art districts, from golf to nightlife. Residents, especially retirees, get to better enjoy the attractions since they get to keep a larger portion of their income.
GOBankingRates found the best cities for retirees in each state that does not have an income tax, according to CNBC. San Antonio, where 10.4 percent of the population is 65 and older, is tops for Texas. The city’s median rent is a relatively affordable $1,450, and utilities are only around $130.
Seven states do not have income tax: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming. Other cities on the list include Spokane, Wash., Henderson, Nev., and Tampa, Fla.
