Homebuyers Increasingly Say Energy Efficiency Is a ‘Must Have’
A survey by the NAHB found that more buyers are looking for energy efficiency features when purchasing a home.
Ninety-four percent of homebuyers said they wanted Energy-Star rated appliances in a new home, 36 percent of them saying that this feature is essential, while the remaining 58 percent said it was desirable.
Additionally, 91 percent said they wanted an Energy-Star rating for the whole home, 28 percent identifying it as essential, and 63 percent saying it is desirable.
