In Houston, Multifamily is Popular for Young and Old

Both cohorts desire mixed-use communities with an easy walk to amenities

According to the Houston Business Journal, Boomers and Millennials in Houston have this trend in common when it comes to housing: the denser, the better.

“Houston homebuilders, apartment developers, and architects have found what appeals to Millennials actually also appeals to Baby Boomers,” the article says. “Both want to live in apartments, smaller homes and mixed-use communities where they can walk to live, work and play.”

Because of this, the multifamily sector is a big force in Houston’s housing market, driven by the two largest American demographics – Boomers and Millennials.
