Negative Equity Continues to Decline

Zillow Real Estate Research found that the U.S. rate of negative equity among homeowners “dropped a full percentage point in the third quarter of 2015 to 13.4 percent.”

But despite the shrinking share of underwater homeowners, there are still more than 6.5 million U.S. homeowners with a mortgage trapped in negative equity.
