Those who want both the performance of rooftop PV and an attractive roof can turn to a new panel systems from Sistine Solar.
Curbed reports that the panels are unlike most of the other dark rectangles on the market. Sistine Solar’s panels can reflect any image while still letting light through to the PV cells. Homeowners can use the panels to visually match a shingled rooftop.
The company will compete with other solar manufacturers such as Dyaqua and Tesla, which offer rooftop solar tiles.
Sistine Solar’s apparent advantage among these companies is that you can install the camouflaged panels without needing to entirely re-roof your home.
