The growing popularity of rooftop solar power in Bridgeport, Conn., has caused a three-month backlog for city inspections. Bridgeport’s solar installation numbers jumped from 138 in 2015 to 350 last year, with the city outpacing the growth of many neighboring communities. Programs supporting solar have made rooftop PVs affordable even for those of modest means. Residents have reported dramatic reductions in their electric costs as a result.
