Experian and TransUnion, two of the three national credit bureaus, have begun incorporating rent payment data into credit scores, giving a credit boost to those with a history of on-time rental payments, according to the Columbus Dispatch. Currently, landlords and utility companies are not required to report payments to national credit bureaus, but they could be beneficial to renters applying for mortgages.
