Residential Construction Establishments Turn a Profit in 2011

Residential construction establishments were profitable in 2012. On average, contractors and remodelers were able to cover hard and soft construction costs, according to NAHB’s analysis of recent Economic Census data.

Costs of construction include payroll, costs of work subcontracted out to others, and costs for materials and supplies.
