Solar Industry Reports Job Growth Higher Than the Overall U.S. Economy

The Huffington Post cites a study by nonprofit The Solar Foundation that indicates job growth in the solar industry is 20 times higher than the rest of the U.S. economy.

There were nearly 174,000 jobs in the industry last year, representing an 86 percent employment growth since the organization began tracking job figures in 2010. More than half of the solar industry jobs involved installation, and 19 percent were in manufacturing. The industry installed 7,200 megawatts of new solar power last in 2014.
