A Subtle, Demure, and Modern Kansas City Home

One architect and homeowner in Kansas City, Mo., built and designed a home that takes cues from midcentury modern but blends in with its Prairie School-style neighbors.

According to Dwell, the home is a “happy marriage of wood and blackened steel.” Sitting on top of a lot only 50-feet wide, architect and homeowner Matthew Hufft designed vertically, filled with iconic midcentury pieces paired with custom craftwork.
