Subtropolis: A Giant Business Complex Underneath Kansas City

Bloomberg Business offers a report on the huge underground industrial park housed in an excavated mine underneath Kansas City.

The site is the size of 140 football fields, and more than 1,000 people spend their workdays in this subterranean environment. Tenants include USPS, cloud computing company LightEdge, Vanguard Packaging, and the National Archives and Records Association. About 10 percent of Kansas City’s commercial real estate is underground.
