Houston-based builder David Weekley Homes and developer ECM Development plan to construct three communities and hundreds of single-family rental homes in the Dallas-Forth Worth area. ECM Development’s president calls the single-family rental market “one of the fastest-growing real estate segments.” The two companies formed a new subsidiary, ICB Construction LLC, to develop the communities, two of which will be gated. One plan, Echelon at Reverchon Bluffs, is set to open its first homes this spring. This gated community includes 82 detached homes sized between 1,574 and 2,166 square feet, along with outdoor common areas and a swimming pool.
In downtown Arlington, ECM Development is building 61 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes in a community at a public park.
And builders’ Eden Terrace community in Arlington will have 120 detached rental homes in a gated community near the River Legacy Park, which is north of Interstate 30.
The project also includes a clubhouse, a fitness center and a pool.
David Weekley is already one of the biggest single-family homebuilders in North Texas.
