U.S. Lagging Behind Japan And South Korea In Connection Speeds
The U.S. has the highest number of fixed and mobile broadband subscriptions, but the nation ranks 22nd for fiber-optic penetration.
Forbes reports that while 70 percent of broadband users in Japan and South Korea enjoy fast fiber connections, only 11 percent of U.S. users do.
All of the nations that rank in the top ten for fiber-optic penetration have significantly smaller populations and land areas than the U.S.
