Dave Everson, owner of Arizona-based Mandalay Homes, recently revealed his newest “discovery home”: an all-electric house fitted with a battery.
The Daily Courier reports that the battery, which is charged by rooftop solar panels, provides all the power the home needs during the day. The house draws power from the grid at night, when consumer demand is lower.
The house is meant to be a solution to the Southwest’s disrupted grid, where solar panel owners have pumped in excess energy that has led to shutdown issues.
