Rather than flush money down the toilet, homeowners are putting big bucks into their toilets — and showers, faucets, and tiles.

MarketWatch reports that remodeling spending is up, and that bathrooms are getting the most attention. Popular upgrades include LED lighting, showers without tubs, and doorless showers. Upscale fixtures are also trendy.

While a nice bathroom can become a private sanctuary, renovations might not improve resale value that much.
