Top Most Expensive ZIP Codes in the US
For the second year in a row, Atherton, Calif., (94027) has been ranked the most expensive ZIP Code in the U.S. According to a recently released report from Property Shark, which ranks ZIP Codes based on median home sales prices, Atherton secured the top spot once again with a record $10.73 million median sales price.
In general, record high median sales became the norm in 2026, with 11 of the 15 ranked states reaching record high prices.
Which ZIP Codes made up the top 5?
Following Atherton, Calif., with the first eight-figure median sale price ever, Sagaponack, N.Y. (11962) recorded a median sale price of $7.35 million, followed by Miami Beach, Fla., (33109) with a median sale price of $7.217 million. Bridgehampton, N.Y., (11932) ranked fourth with a median sale price of $6.15 million, and then Newport Beach, Calif., (92657) with a median sale price of $6.1 million.
The East Coast is seeing median prices grow
As prices across the East Coast rise, East Coast ZIP Codes have increasingly ranked higher on Property Shark’s list. The New York metro alone claimed 25% of the list in 2026 with 31 ZIP Codes securing spots. The metro now ties with the Bay Area as the country’s priciest metro.
Suffolk County was responsible for much of the luxury spending in New York in 2026, represented by a record 10 ZIP Codes, three of which were among the country’s 10 most expensive.
