Given that university students can come from all over the country, or the world, they might not have the time or resources needed to take an actual visit to their potential off-campus apartments. They are comfortable enough do everything online.
Bloomberg reports that LoftSmart, a site where users can browse listings, take virtual tours, and read reviews from other tenants, is not just a solution for college students, but could serve as a model for house and apartment hunters everywhere.
The co-founder of LoftSmart said that 70 percent of students sign leases without attending an open house or viewing.
Developers have added more than 350,000 new beds in off-campus student housing over the last seven years, increasing the need for stronger marketing toward prospective tenants.
