Factory In Thailand Can Produce 1,000 Homes Per Year

Prefabricated home factories in the U.S. use robots and advanced tech, but they still resemble the traditional factory and assembly line. Plants overseas are much more advanced, though.

Andrew Weinreich, a contributor to Forbes and host of the podcast Predicting Our Future, explores SCG Heim in Thailand, a factory that can produce 1,000 homes per year.

The facility uses fully automated robotics that build homes with framing made of light gauge steel. Homes in the U.S. are made of wood, which is labor intensive.
