A full-size house, even one with only 1,000 square feet, can be a hassle to maintain, especially for someone all alone.

Britany Robinson of Curbed writes that tiny homes are good options for single adults, particularly women. People can get the benefits of homeownership without needing a second person for help with finances or repairs. Robinson spoke with several young adults in the Portland, Ore., area who enjoyed the minimalistic lifestyle a tiny home offers.
