Economists Expect Fed to Raise Rates in September

Four out of five private economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal project that the Fed will begin to raise rates in September.

The remaining economists surveyed say they think the Fed would wait until December to raise rates.

“The Federal Reserve continues to message that it intends to normalize rates this year, and with rebounding activity in the coming months, September continues to be the leading candidate,” National Association of Manufacturers chief economist Chad Moutray told The Wall Street Journal.
