Some experts believe that the current stock market plunge may already be hurting consumer confidence in the housing market, Inman News reports.

Mortgage rates plummeted when the big sell-off in stocks began last week. The question experts ask is whether declines in equity prices will mean buyers will have a harder time coming up with a down payment, thus undermining homebuyer confidence.
