A study by Zillow shows that rents are rising in many U.S. cities, even in housing markets that have struggled, Forbes reports.
The national average for rent is $1,350 per month. San Francisco is the city where rent is rising the fastest, with median rent climbing 15 percent year-over-year for the fourth consecutive month. Next in line are San Jose, Calif., with a 13.4 percent year-over-year increase; Denver, with 10.2; and Kansas City, Mo., with 8.5 percent.
