The 50 Most Affordable U.S. Small Towns

Business Insider looked at towns with populations between 1,000 and 10,000 whose households spend no more than 30 percent of their annual income on housing costs.

Most of the towns that made the list are in the South, with some Midwestern and Southwestern towns interspersed.

Boomer, W. Va., tops the list with 100 percent affordable homes. Also at the top are Waterflow, N.M., and Lawtell, La.
