The Dutch town of Krommenie, north of Amsterdam, made headlines last year for building the world’s first solar energy harvesting road. Business Insider reports that today, engineers say the system is “working even better than expected.”
Covered with glass-coated solar panels, the 230-foot bike path generated 3,000 kWh, which is enough electricity to power a small household for a year.
