Entry-level home builder LGI Homes is upgrading finishes across all of its new homes.
The Texas company’s “complete home” initiative is designed to make homes more consistent across all of its markets, which span 17 states. The upgrades will include granite countertops, ceiling fans, nicer appliances, USB plugs, and garage door openers, among others.
The new finishes will mean a cost increase of roughly $3,000 for homebuyers, and is expected to gain the company a 30 percent margin increase, The Houston Chronicle reports. Upgraded homes have been profitable for the company in the past.
