The Wall Street Journal tells the story of homeowners who take on costly and time-consuming home improvement projects. The drawn-out time tables are due to indecisiveness, frugalness, and even procrastination.

Problems arise when builders and designers, who hang on every whim of the owner, get fed up with the process.
