More remodelers report more labor shortages

NAHB reports that many remodeling businesses around the country are having a hard time finding labor.

The data was obtained from NAHB’s Remodeling Market Index (RMI). Nationally, 72 percent of the respondents say there is either a serious or some shortage in carpenters during the third quarter of 2014, compared to 44 percent in the first quarter of 2013. Each of the 12 key categories in the survey experienced an increase of labor shortage reports from remodelers in 2014 compared to 2013.
