New Homes vs. Existing Homes vs. Renting

One of the biggest questions while searching for a place to live is whether to rent or buy. More specifically, whether to rent or to buy a new house or an existing one.

While a rental has a better chance of landing you nearer to restaurants, shops, and public transportation, rent increases are outpacing the rise in home prices nationally.

So what about buying? While a new home may be more expensive than an existing home, it at least offers the peace of mind that comes with a shiny new warranty to cover possible defects—something an existing house won’t offer.
