Gehan Homes, Empire Communities, American Southern Homes each closed on acquisitions this week, expanding into new territories.

Dallas-based Gehan Homes, the tenth largest private home builder, acquired the Denver-based Wonderland Homes. Wonderland Homes builds townhomes and single-family homes in four Denver submarkets. Canada-based Empire Communities, one of the largest North American private builders, acquired Shea Homes North Carolina. This expansion will transition Shea Homes’ 13 Charlotte communities into the Empire brand. American Southern Homes (ASH) has now entered the Arizona markets through its acquisition of Dorn Homes. This move expands ASH’s operations into the Western U.S. from its original markets of Georgia and Alabama.
