Transforming House Adjusts to Temperature

On hot days, owners of Motus passive houses won’t need to turn on the air conditioning. All they have to do is slide a screen and shell around the outside of the house for shade.

Fast Company says that the house, which is still in concept, will use substantially less energy than a standard house. The walls, ceilings, and floors are all glass, which opens the house up to the environment and allows more natural light.

A row of solar panels powers the house and the retractable screens.
